About Me
I am Meghana Kunamneni, a high school student at Montrose School in Medfield, MA, and an accomplished chess player. I have won several chess titles, including the Massachusetts Youth Grand Prix Chess Championship (2021) and multiple state and national championships.
Alongside my chess achievements, I am actively involved in community service and leadership roles. I serve as Vice President of the Red Key Team at my school and volunteer at Milford Regional Medical Center, supporting patients during imaging procedures.
I also teach chess at the Bellingham Public Library and contribute to non-profit organizations like Chess for Charity. My dedication to academics, extracurricular activities, and community service showcases my organizational and leadership skills.

My Research on Cancer
My research, published in the Journal of Student Research, titled: "Decisions, Incisions, and New Dimensions: Exploring the Double Mastectomy Choice for BRCA1 Carriers" aims to bridge the gap between the medical and emotional aspects of mastectomies for BRCA1 mutation carriers. By exploring experiences from international and local perspectives, it seeks to understand the procedure's advantages and disadvantages. The study uses qualitative data from interviews and surveys, enabling an in-depth exploration of personal experiences. These insights can improve patient care and support systems for individuals considering this prophylactic surgery.
